Will Your New Sheriff Be a Hero?

While honorable Sheriffs and Judges are busy keeping the citizens of Wyoming constitutionally protected by exercising their rights UNDER the constitution, here in Calhoun County we would be happy just to elect a Sheriff who will not simply go along with the common corrupt practices of other local law enforcement officials in the area. A sheriff who would make us actually feel secure and safe!

The common practices of secrecy and lies, falsifying stories to obtain search warrants, and permanently misplacing important evidence have been the order of the day over the past several years, with more and more corruption finally brought to light by fed up citizens. Common public opinion has grown ever more distrustful of the octopus of local law enforcement with all it’s accompanying choking and squeezing tentacles called “the legal system”. And unfortunately, the “authorities” have not been particularly forthcoming in keeping the citizens informed regarding the outcome of their ” internal investigations”. It would be a blessing to have a sheriff who would simply DO A GOOD JOB, be HONEST and straightforward, and use his power to make this county a better place for EVERYONE. Is that too much to ask?

Now, it’s my understanding that we have two candidates running for sheriff who have both been sheriff of this county once before. My first thoughts regarding these men run to remembering when they were previously in the Sheriffs office. I never paid much attention to these things back then, only to notice that when Allan Parsons was the sheriff, people seemed to have very little bad to say about the man. In fact, I heard quite a few folks say he was a pretty good sheriff. Perhaps even fondly remembered by some.

The other previous sheriff, Bill Stemple, was a bit of a different story. It seems that he rubbed a few folks the wrong way. Quite a few. Not particularly paying attention to details at the time, I can only say from experience that I have heard a lot of people complain that they didn’t like him.

With that said, I was approached a few days ago by someone with a bit of information regarding Mr. Stemple that they thought was important enough to be shared with the voters so they could make an informed decision at the ballot box. Which got me curious and I did some research of my own.

Apparently Mr. Stemple has a habit of keeping secrets. While he was a member of the House of Delegates his claim to fame appears to have been NEVER telling the citizens of Calhoun County about his voting record, and is allegedly one of the only delegates who was not interested in keeping the citizens informed.

“Representative William F. ‘Bill’ Stemple REPEATEDLY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY RESPONSES TO CITIZENS ON ISSUES THROUGH THE 2006 NATIONAL POLITICAL AWARENESS TEST WHEN ASKED TO DO SO BY

Key national leaders of both major parties including:
John McCain, Republican Senator
Geraldine Ferraro, Former Democratic Congresswoman
Michael Dukakis, Former Democratic Governor
Bill Frenzel, Former Republican Congressman
Richard Kimball, Project Vote Smart President

Over 100 news organizations throughout the nation also urged their candidates to supply their issue positions through the National Political Awareness Test.”

http://www.votesmart.org/npat.php?can_id=10642

Further investigation reveals that every single issue he voted on, he voted with the majority. A yes man, he voted straight yes on everything. Much like a school boy taking a test he is unprepared for, who simply marks “D” for “none of the above” after every question, leading one to the question of whether or not he actually READ any of the bills he voted on.

One would think that a candidate’s unwillingness to tell anyone his positions on the issues would make it very difficult for people to know why they might want to vote for him…

I discovered that Mr. Stemple did THREE tours of duty in Viet Nam. Yup, you heard that right, he WENT BACK FOR TWO MORE. Infantry, on the ground. Military thru and thru, he apparently has no problem with a little killing… This seems to ring true, as the LAST time he was sheriff, there was a little issue over the shooting death of a mentally ill woman who had called her case worker and was awaiting her arrival for some help. Apparently Stemple, escorted by a deputy and Trooper Doug Starcher, arrived at the woman’s home before the case worker could get there and were greeted by a disturbed woman with a gun. The deputy, who it turned out was NOT legal to carry a weapon at that time, severely overreacted and shot and killed the woman. However, an internal investigation did not find anyone accountable… Where have I heard that before?

Now, take this for whatever it’s worth, as I could find no documentation on this, being “secret” and all. However I am assured that it IS documented. We’ve all heard about “secret societies”. There are all manner of them, but because of the very nature of their SECRECY, it’s hard to know much about them or what they really do. The idea of secret societies conjures up unsavory and evil images of the occult, the “New World Order”, the “Illuminati”, etc. In fact the Freemasons, and the KKK are both examples of commonly known “secret societies”.

My sources tell me that Mr Stemple either WAS or still IS a member of a secret society within the WV State Police. Doesn’t THAT make you feel secure? Are you feeling SAFE yet?

How many other secrets Bill Stemple is hiding remain to be seen. His previous sheriffhood came with some mighty convenient arrangements. He worked closely with and lived next door to WV’s Finest, infamous Trooper Doug Starcher, for years. How handy. It would not take much to imagine the smell of conspiracy in the air in that neighborhood.

I bet most of you were unaware that Bill Stemple was a land speculator. He managed at one point to obtain around $800,000 in taxpayers money for the purpose of building a “plant” of some kind in Grantsville. Probably one of those imaginary businesses that was going to be built at Calhoun’s big “Industrial Park”… He was even “hired” as personnel man… But, again, no explanation was ever offered publicly as to where the plant or the money went, but some of the people who were in on the deal ended up owning some of the property…

We know we’ve had a lot of problems with our “Public Servants”. Maybe a little more than the average? Within ranks locally, the crime rate is THRU THE ROOF as compared with the general population of the county. We know there are foul things afoot in politics and government in general. WV has become internationally famous for corruption in high places. And they say the police state in America is gaining ground rapidly. Wouldn’t you rather put your trust in someone who doesn’t have the habit of keeping secrets? Someone who is not quite so used to using a gun to solve problems? At this point, what we DO need is a hero. Someone who does not see the citizens as enemy combatants, but as friends and neighbors, to be protected. Someone who will stand up for WHAT IS RIGHT for a change. Living in Calhoun County is like living in a small town. Many folks know each other or at least have heard of each other. We have VERY LITTLE real crime. Most folks are good folks. Not a whole lot of excitement for a sheriff. So, things could be A LOT BETTER easily. Think along the lines of “Andy of Mayberry”. It’s not unrealistic! The world OUT THERE may be a really scary place, but the world HERE is pretty calm by comparison. Why does it have to be so difficult? We could sure use a little SANITY for a change, don’t you think?

A person who cannot or will not take a public stand on the issues, one who gets involved in questionable activities and with questionable people when they should be visibly above reproach, a person who could even possibly be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from doing too many tours of duty in Viet Nam, does not seem like the best choice to lead us into sanity.

Ron Paul Wins!

By Calhoununderground | March 7, 2008

It’s time for some straight forward honesty and for looking at the bigger picture. I don’t believe too many folks here actually really think that Ron Paul can win the presidential election unless the evil players finally anger enough citizens to make a big difference. Which is ALWAYS possible at some point, of course. But that does not mean anything except that the majority of citizens either don’t know about him, spend too much time listening to what MSM tells them, or do not understand what is at stake here. The truth of the matter is that Ron Paul has ALREADY won. Because of his message and leadership qualities, and the fact that there are many of us who have been disenfranchised for nearly all our lives, living within a system that we cannot support, who have simply been waiting for the appropriate leader to help direct us out of this mess. Ron Paul is that catalyst for change that we have waited for since the 60’s. And before this is over, he may not “win” the “official” presidency, but he may very well be OUR president anyhow. Perhaps he already is…

I would bet all the money I have that Obama will “win” the election and I will be the first to say so. He will win for a number of reasons, mainly so that we can appear like such a WONDERFULLY non-racist country as to “elect” a non-white. Also because as a non-white, he will most certainly do everything he can to make all the “right” people like him. Hillary is too much of a wild card. Certainly McCain is not so dumb that he does not understand that the majority HATE George Bush and want the war to END, and so aligning himself with Bush is his ticket to lose. I would say in my humble opinion that is being done ON PURPOSE to eliminate him from the “viable” candidates list.

And so, we sit here on the eve of our destruction as a free nation and morn the fact that nobody pays attention to the only honest and REAL individual of the bunch. Well, WE are paying attention, and we know what’s going on, and we cannot support a tyrannical government. No matter WHO wins, we cannot let ourselves be bullied or railroaded by phony people we did not vote for and do not believe in.

Now, understand, I am not laying all the power on Ron Paul’s shoulders. WE as thinking citizens, are the ones with the REAL power, Ron is just a unifying force in a society which seems to be mainly followers with few leaders. We have begun a revolution for real, based on oppression and the spark that Ron Paul has kindled. Too many people seem to be confused about this revolution. Many folks think the only way to have a revolution is to be violent, and that too has begun. There are also many who think most people are to apathetic to HAVE a revolution, but those who believe that ARE the apathetic ones. The revolution has already begun, right under their noses, and they don’t even see it.

Most folks expect and actually demand that a revolution, in order to be effective, must encompass huge groups of people all doing the same thing at the same time. While this would be nice, it is very nearly impossible to organize something of that nature. Everyone has their own ideas. Ron Paul has stated that the revolution is up to US, and that is the truth.

So, to sum this up I would say, to those of you with leadership abilities, aid in leading this revolution. To those with organizational qualities, start organizing. To those with the energy required to do great things, begin acting. To those with intelligence and wisdom, begin educating. To those with honor, set a good example. And to those with courage, begin living the life you WANT.

All these are small pieces to a huge and as yet unfinished puzzle. We don’t have to take the world by storm. We don’t need to have millions all in one place at any one time. QUALITY is just as effective as QUANTITY. An act here, a rally there, gatherings, get togethers, personal passive acts of resistance every single day. These are the things that when put together as a whole will show those insane criminals who fancy themselves to be “in power” what we are really made of. There WILL be violence, and we cannot do anything about that. But rather than argue amongst ourselves, we simple should do what we feel is RIGHT.

Personally I don’t NEED a leader. I tend more towards BEING one. But if I WANTED one, I would simply declare that RON PAUL IS MY PRESIDENT. Regardless of the outcome of our fraudulent elections.

Ron Paul Has The Most Support From Military

People say they won’t vote for him because he “doesn’t have a chance.” But how is someone supposed to have a chance if people won’t vote for him? That’s a great big DUH…

Well, for someone who “doesn’t have a chance”, he seems to be making an impression on SOME people.

Ron Paul Is Beating McCain By 192 Votes In Nevada

Connie Talk
Monday February 18, 2008

Ron Paul is winning the state of Nevada.  With 1,750 of Nevada’s 1,789 precincts reporting, the results of which are available Nevada GOP’s websiteMitt Romney would have taken the state at 51%, but has since dropped out of the race, making Ron Paul’s 13% currently the winner.  Ron Paul has 5,802 votes; 192 more than John McCain’s 5,610, and 5% more than Mike Huckabee’s 3,519.

Here is a list of reasons I’ve heard from both Republican voters and on-the-fence voters – from he doesn’t have enough support, to people aren’t interested in him, to people aren’t voting for him – followed up with facts.  Au contraire, mon frère!

“He doesn’t have enough support.”
Ron Paul has 1,613 meetup groups in 1,191 cities.
Mike Huckabee has 508 meetup groups in 444 cities.
John McCain has 8 meetup groups in 8 cities.

“People aren’t interested in him.”
Ron Paul consistently (and substantially) outranked both of his GOP competitors – Mike Huckabee and John McCain – in Google searches in the last 12 months.  Google is the #1 search engine in the world (though the link above just measures the U.S., for purposed of who may be qualified to vote).

“His campaign won’t have enough money.”
In the last quarter of 2007, Ron Paul beat his own fundraising record of $4.3 million in 24 hours, and made national history with the highest fundraising amount in one day in the U.S. presidential race, ever:  $6 million in 24 hours.

“He can’t fix the economy.”
Whether or not you agree with his ideas on how to revive America’s economy, there is no question on the fact that Ron Paul is the only candidate of the Republican and Democratic parties left in the race whose campaign has $0 in debts to any company or individual.  Look at the debts column.  Paul leads by example when he preaches on not borrowing what we don’t have.

“He hasn’t won any states.”
Ron Paul took 1st place in Montana, and 2nd place in Alaska, North Dakota, and Louisiana thusfar.  Many of the primary and caucus results for the states that have voted already are incomplete or not yet available, and what many people are assuming is fact are just projections by the media.

“I don’t know enough about him.”
You watch too much television, then.

Alright, that last one was a joke…sort of.

2/18/08 UPDATE:  100% of the precincts have now reported. Ron Paul won at 14% of the vote (6,084); McCain was 2nd place at 13%; Huckabee at 8%. As of right now, the results page is stating “last updated” on January 19th at 7:00 pm; this must be a misprint, as the data reflected 97.8% of the vote being in yesterday (2/17/08), and then was updated before midnight to reflect 100%.

March on Washington

Calling all Activists! If you thought the 60’s were interesting, welcome to the 2008 presidential campaign.

There is revolution afoot. The powers that be have been slowly stealing our freedoms while we were not looking. But there is a revolution getting started, and it’s also been happening while nobody was looking. As our imprisonment and slavery has been sneaking up on us, so has this revolution been sneaking up on THEM.

This is now official and from the horses mouth. The details are being ironed out now. Calhoun Underground will update as this progresses.

Help, The Mainstream Media Swallowed Ron Paul!

Connie Talk
Tuesday February 12, 2008

Yes, you read that correctly: the mainstream media has swallowed presidential candidate Ron Paul. He’s still in the presidential race, so everyone needs to calm down…but if you judged by the news headlines from the mass media, that is definitely not the impression you would get. When he’s mentioned at all – which is rarely, compared to all of his competitors – the titles range from “With Losses Mounting, Paul Downsizes Campaign,” to “Ron Paul Has Left The Building.”

Luckily, they didn’t fool us then; and they certainly don’t fool us now.

First of all, here are some solid post-Super Tuesday facts:

* Ron Paul is projected as the 2nd place winner in Alaska (98% reporting), 5% behind Huckabee and 1% ahead of John McCain
* Ron Paul is 1st place in Montana, whose results are 100% in (Romney would have beat him at 38% but has dropped out of the race) at 25%, with John McCain at 22% and Mike Huckabee at 15%
* Ron Paul is currently tied for 1st place with John McCain at 13% in Nevada (with 39 precincts left to report)
* Ron Paul is 2nd place in North Dakota whose results are 100% in (Romney had 36%), with John McCain first at 23% and Mike Huckabee last at 20%
* It is still unclear whether Ron Paul won in Louisiana, and what the final results are for Maine McCain is at 21% and Paul at 18% (Huckabee just 6%), but >4% of precincts haven’t reported yet, which could put Paul over the top).
* Ron Paul’s Congressional home state Texas has not held their primaries yet; nor has the key state of Ohio; nor has the state he is from, Pennsylvania (PA’s are not until April 2008)
* There are 22 more states or US territories left to go.

Well, gee, but none of that is in the MSM, is it? They’ve showed clear bias towards the Democratic party this year, and to the liberally conservative John McCain. Sure, the media favored Romney for a while as well, but he was just a casualty in the overall scheme. It’s been stated repeatedly that Paul and Huckabee were “not serious contenders” from the very beginning, if that makes any sense. If all of this seems a little bit confusing, you must have missed our article on Congressman Ron Paul yesterday. Let’s catch you up.

Who would stand to profit if candidates offering corporate tax reductions got elected?

Who would stand to lose if companies were forced to minimize cheap-labor overseas manufacturing, namely in China, which Huckabee and Paul both strongly address?

Whom are the companies sponsoring that are doing the censoring?

Who would lose if the Federal Reserve was made to stop us from printing and spending what we don’t have; if the IRS was eliminated, even?

Who does not want you to hear a word of what Ron Paul has to say?

Who?
